Services for Robert Gene Holmes of Madison are 11 a.m., Tuesday,June 8, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in RosehillCemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 8-11 a.m.,at the funeral home.

Mr. Holmes, 72, died June 6, 2004. He was born in Lincoln Countyon July 5, 1931, to Martin Holmes and Libbie McDaniel Holmes.

He was employed with Holmes Trucking. He was a member of FirstBaptist Church of Madison. He served four years in the AirForce.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brothers, WarrenHolmes and George Holmes.

Survivors are his wife, Libby Douglas Holmes of Madison; hissons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Kathy Holmes, and Jack andKaren Holmes, all of Madison; and his grandchildren, Carter Holmesand Noah Holmes.

Rufus Noble

Services for Rufus Noble of Brookhaven are 1 p.m., Tuesday, June8, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in RiverwoodMemorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 8 a.m.until 1 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Noble, 80, died June 6, 2004, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on May 6, 1924, to Rufus W. Noble and JosieOliver Noble.

He was a retired contractor/builder, and was an Army veteran. Hewas a member of First Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, six sisters and onebrother.

Survivors are his wife, Nannie Lou Price Noble of Brookhaven;his daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne Noble of Hattiesburg, LucyNoble Watts and husband Lee of Greenwood, and Lindy Noble Gray andhusband Barry of Brookhaven; his sisters, Jeanette Haag, ClaudiaKenney and Mildred Covington, all of Brookhaven; and hisgrandchildren, Alan Gray, Austin Watts, Alex Gray and MarleeWatts.

Oscar B. Smith

Services for Oscar B. Smith of Bogue Chitto were 2 p.m., Sunday,June 6, at Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Smith, 73, died June 4, 2004, at Mississippi Baptist MedicalCenter in Jackson. He was born in Lincoln County on June 5, 1930,to Versie Smith and Grace Smith.

He was a retired construction worker. He was an Army veteran. Hewas a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and two brothers, ClydeSmith and Vernon Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Dot Lofton Smith of Bogue Chitto; hisdaughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Kelby Brent of Summit, Jenniferand Randy Davis of Bogue Chitto, Loretta Smith of Dothan, Ala., andRamona and Carroll Smith of Smithdale; his son, Brett Smith ofVancleave; his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and WeldonFortenberry of Kentwood, La.; his grandchildren, Ky and AmandaBrent, Kandi Jo Brent, and Kody and Josh Tullos, all of Summit,Kasey and Robert Causey of San Diego, Calif., Sara and AnthonyPropes of New Orleans, La., Brogan Smith of Ponchatoula, La.,Sawyer Smith of Brookhaven, Jenny and Jason Leggett, and AlexDavis, all of Bogue Chitto, Anna Case and Christopher Case, both ofDothan, Ala., and Drew Smith of Smithdale; his great-grandchildren,Kelsie and Katelin Brent, Garrett Anders, and Brentlee Tullos, allof Summit, and Jacob Propes of New Orleans; and numerous nieces,nephews, friends and family members.

Pallbearers were his grandsons.
