Frances Bickel O’Rorke

A requiem mass for Frances Bickel O’Rorke of Jackson will beheld at 11 a.m., Monday, June 14, at St. Patrick Catholic Church inMeridian with burial in the church cemetery. Wright and FergusonFuneral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

Miss O’Rorke, 93, died June 11, 2004, at St. Dominic JacksonMemorial Hospital. She was born in Meridian on Feb. 14, 1911, toEmmett and Nell Perry O’Rorke.

She attended Catholic schools in Meridian and worked in Memphisand Jackson until her retirement in 1970. She was retired from theU.S. Marshal’s office in Jackson. She and her sister Helen Swannfrequently visited the home of their sister, Mrs. Ed (Marcelle)Brennan. She was a resident of Brookhaven with her nieces MarcelleBrennan and Mary Anne Brennan for eight years before entering St.Catherine’s Village in 1998.

Preceding her in death were her sisters, Marcelle O. Brennan,Helen O. Swann, Jeanne O. Nelson and Nina O. Moss; her brother,Emmett O’Rorke.

Survivors are her sister, Eileen O. Soule of Meridian, herbrother-in-law, Ernest C. Moss Jr.; her nieces, Marcelle Brennan ofBrookhaven, Mary Eileen Soule of Meridian, and Nina Carol Moss ofJackson; her nephews and their wives, John Charles and Jan O’Rorkeof Kingsbury, Calif., Robert Archer and Jean O’Rorke of Conroy,Texas, George Halbert Soule Jr. of Meridian, Ernest Crosby Moss IIIand Nancy Lang of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Stephen Michael Moss ofBirmingham, Ala.; and several great nieces and nephews.
