Deborah Fay Byrd

Services for Deborah Fay Byrd of Picayune were 11 a.m., Tuesday,June 15, at First Baptist Church of Picayune with burial in NewPalestine Cemetery. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Byrd, 52, died June 11, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on March 26, 1952, to Bessie and ClydeSmith.

She graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1970. For the past25 years, she worked for the Naval Oceanographic at the StennisTest Site in Waveland, retiring as a budget analyst last year. Sheand her husband, Richard, bred and trained Paso Fino horses forseveral years. She often joined Richard and their son, Zachary, asone of the riders at the many horse shows she loved to attend.Another passion was attending football games at Picayune HighSchool, Pearl River Community College and Ouachita BaptistUniversity, where her son, Jack, played the position of kicker. Shewas a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Richard Byrd of Picayune; her sons,Zachary Byrd of Houma, La., and Jack Byrd of Picayune; and hersisters, Voncile Johnston of El Cajon, Calif., Jene Bell ofGulfport, and Belinda Cartwright of Gulfport.

Harvey Lambert

Services for Harvey Lambert of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Tuesday,June 15, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in EasthavenCemetery.

Mr. Lambert, 88, died June 13, 2004, at his residence. He wasborn in Lawrence County on July 31, 1915, to Jasper Lambert and IdaArd Lambert.

He was a retired mechanic and a World War II Air Force veteran.He was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, eight brothers and twosisters.

Survivors are his wife, Vera Maude Lambert of Brookhaven; hissons and daughters-in-law, LaRue and Wanda Lambert of Pascagoula,and Travis and Beth Lambert of Hartselle, Ala.; four grandchildren;and one great-grandchild.

Prudence “Annie Mae” Thompson

Services for Prudence “Annie Mae” Thompson of Brookhaven are 1p.m., Thursday, June 17, at Tyler Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Carver Heights Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 6 p.m., at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Thompson, 82, died June 13, 2004, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was born in Crystal Springs on Aug. 22, 1921,to Curtis Barkley and Tinnie Harris Barkley.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul MissionaryBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, RobertThompson Sr.; a daughter, Rosemary Guice; two sons, Vincent andRobert Thompson Jr.; and her brothers, Joe Bartley, George W.Bartley, Augustus Bartley, Curtis Bartley and Charlie Bartley.

Survivors are her daughter, Diane Thompson Hooker of Jackson;her sons, Harold Ray Thompson and Curtis Thompson, both ofBrookhaven, and John Thompson of New Hebron; her sisters, BurnellEvans, Hazel Graham and Pearl Johnson, all of Crystal Springs; ninegrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces andnephews.
