McComb tops Wesson in District 6

NATCHEZ — The McComb All-Stars defeated Wesson 5-1 Monday nightin the Dixie Youth Baseball Majors 11s District Six Tournament.McComb, unbeaten in the double-elimination tournament, playsNatchez tonight at 7.
McComb’s Steven Swindle was the winning pitcher. He allowed 3hits, struck out 10 and walked 5.
McComb only had 2 hits. Phillip Price doubled and Conner Amossingled.
Gib Britt was the losing pitcher. In 3 innings, Britt gave up 2hits, struck out 6 and walked 7.
Matt Smith hurled the last 2 innings. He fanned 4 and allowed nohits.
Wesson got an RBI single from Alex Goza. Mac Lowery and MattSmith singled. Wesson scored 1 run in the top of the first butMcComb scored twice in the bottom.
If McComb wins tonight, Wesson will play McComb Wednesday at 6p.m. If Natchez wins, a draw will determine the schedule.
Natchez eliminated the Brookhaven Nationals 4-3 with a 2-runrally in the sixth inning last night. Brookhaven had taken a 3-2lead in the first.
