Tommy Derrell “Tom” Espy of Baton Rouge, La., formerly ofMonticello, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at Baton Rouge GeneralMedical Center-Mid City.

Mr. Espy, 47, was born in Monticello on April 29, 1957, to JohnRichard Espy Sr. and and JoAnn Davis Espy.

He was the first nationally registered paramedic in the state ofMississippi. He retired after 20 years of service in the EMSprofession and was a graduate of ITI Technical College. Of all hisaccomplishments, he was most proud of his family and the fact thathe was a 10-year dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his first wife, Cynthia Ruth Case and her husband,Robert C. (Nubby), of Brookhaven; his second wife, Noreen RockBoudreaux and her husband, Kenneth J., of Brookhaven; one daughter,Tommie Gabrielle Espy; two sons, Jonathan Lee Espy, formerly ofBrookhaven, and his wife, Chrisandra, and Justan Shane Jackson andhis wife, Heather T., of Brookhaven; one brother, John Richard EspyJr., and his wife, Vicki, formerly of Brookhaven; threegrandchildren, Gracie, Grant and Abby Jackson; one niece, Joanna;and one nephew, Noah Espy.
