>Services for George Ellis Miller of Monticello are 10 a.m.,Tuesday, July 27, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello, withburial in Monticello Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Miller, 83, died July 24, 2004, at his residence. He wasborn in Winnsboro, La., on October 13, 1920, to John Wilson Millerand Mattie Mae Smith Miller.

He was the retired owner of Miller Service Station. He was anArmy veteran of World War II. He was a member and deacon ofMonticello Methodist Protestant Church and a lifelong resident ofLawrence County.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; fourbrothers, C.L. “Pate” Miller, Roy Miller, J.W. Miller and JobieMiller.

Survivors are his daughter, Tanya Miller Vanhoose of Monticello;his sister, Marie Smith of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, JimMiller of Crestwood, Ill., Freddie Miller of Ruth, and Edgar Millerof McComb; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
