MONTICELLO – A boil-water notice for areas in the Sontag-WanillaWater Association service area was lifted Monday, officialssaid.

The notice affected all customers in Sontag and on Ruby LeaRoad, Sontag-Nola Road, and Rankin Road; and Malcolm Road andBypass Road south of the railroad.

The notice was issued late last week strictly as a precaution bythe water association and the state Department of Health, saidAlvin Ashley, president of the water association’s board ofdirectors.

A break in the line that caused pressure to drop, possiblysucking in contaminants, prompted the notice.
