A single-vehicle crash in Lincoln County claimed the life of ayoung woman Saturday evening shortly before 7 p.m.

According to Lincoln County Medical Examiner Clay McMorris,Jessica Windmiller, 21, was traveling north on Auburn Drive whenshe apparently lost control of her Nissan Maxima.

Windmiller exited the road on the right and struck a tree justsouth of Johnson Grove Church of Christ around 6:42 p.m.

McMorris pronounced Windmiller dead at the scene. The cause ofthe accident is undetermined.

Brookhaven Fire Department responded with the Jaws of Life,which were used to extract Windmiller, and Zetus first respondersalso responded to the crash.

Jessica was the daughter of Rob and Donna Windmiller, and wasengaged to James H. Laird II. She was a West Lincoln graduate.

Funeral arrangements were not immediately known.
