Services for Bertha Mae Kemph of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. Monday,Aug. 23, at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant HillBaptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 5-10 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kemph, 89, died Aug. 20, 2004, at Haven Hall Nursing Home.She was born in Lincoln County on May 31, 1915, to William Walkerand Flora Thames Walker.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, DeweyKemph; two sisters; and six brothers.

Survivors are her son, George Kemph of Brookhaven; her brother,Earl Walker and his wife, Hilda, of McComb; her brother-in-law,Travis Jordan of Bogue Chitto; her sisters-in-law, Earline Walkerof Pearl and Veda Grace Walker of Ferriday, La.; two grandchildren,Nancy Shingler and her husband, Mike, of Pensacola, Fla., and BobbyKemph of Walker, La.; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.

Augusta “Gussie” Case Smith

Services for Augusta “Gussie” Case Smith of Brookhaven are 10a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial inMacedonia Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. Smith, 79, died Aug. 21, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Brookhaven on June 30, 1925, to Gus Case and Betty SmithCase Hall.

She was a retired telephone operator for both BellSouth, for 20years, and King’s Daughters Medical Center, for 20 years. She was amember of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HollisSmith; her son, Tommy Smith; one brother; and five sisters.

Survivors are her two daughters, June Hall of Brookhaven, andJan Williams and her husband, Larry, of Summit; her son, Joe Smithand his wife, Mary, of Brookhaven; her sister, Bessie Smith ofBrookhaven; her grandchildren, Brad Smith, Tate Smith, Nikkie andKelly Altman, Gayla Hall, Katie Williams and Matthew Williams.

Garland T. Smith

Services for Garland T. Smith of Brookhaven are 1 p.m. Monday,Aug. 23, at New Salem Church of Christ with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 4-10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until12:30 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mr. Smith, 90, died Aug. 21, 2004, at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on Sept. 23, 1913, to T.E. “Nong” Smith and JosieGriffin Smith. He was married to Irene Smith for 64 years.

He was a former oil field worker, construction worker andfarmer. He was a member of New Salem Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; threebrothers, Grafton Smith, Dallas Smith and Carlos Smith; threesisters, Lillian Smith, Agnes Smith, and Bernice Britt; hisdaughter-in-law, Bonnie Faye Smith; his son-in-law, Jackie Lea; hisgreat grandson, Kolby Dylan Smith.

Survivors are his daughter, Laverne Lea of Brookhaven; his sons,Kelmer Ray Smith Sr. and his wife, Peggy Joyce Smith, Thomas CalvinSmith, Darrell O’Neil Smith and his wife, Diane, all of Brookhaven;his sister, Iva Smith of Brookhaven; 13 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.
