Services for Willie R. Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inDamascus Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 82, died Aug. 22, 2004, at Silver Cross Nursing Homein Brookhaven. She was born in Lawrence County on Jan. 11, 1922, toPhillip Edgar James and Mamie Marie Cox James.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Gum Grove BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, JohnL. Smith.

Survivors are her daughter, Diane West and her husband, Gordon,of Brookhaven; her sons, John P. Smith and his wife, Doris, ofHouston, Texas, and Alton Smith and his wife, Julia, of Smithdale,Texas; her sister, Nell Foster of Brookhaven; her grandchildren,Anna Lisa West, Phillip Smith, Brooks Smith, Aaron Smith, Lana WestAdams, and Heather West Walker; 11 great grandchildren; and onegreat-great grandchild.
