Services for Ocea Pickett of Kenner, La., formerly of Smithdale,are 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, at Rosehill M.B. Church in Meadvillewith burial in Rosehill Church Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is incharge of arrangements.
Mr. Pickett, 69, died Aug. 20, 2004, at his residence. He wasborn in Meadville on Dec. 17, 1934, to Johnny Pickett and GenevaBrown Pickett.
He was a retired butcher and a veteran of the Army. He was amember of Rosehill M.B. Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Olivia E.Pickett; his sisters, Sarah McGee, Florstine Tillman and Eva Eason;his brothers, Oliver Moore, Joseph Moore, William Pickett andJohnny Pickett.
Survivors are his sons, Steven Pickett and Jeffery Pickett, bothof Detroit, Mich., Eric Pickett and his wife, Lynette, of Chicago,Ill., and Gregory Pickett and his wife, Kimberly, of Louisville,Ky.; his brothers, Howard “Bobby” Moore of Chicago, Dwight Pickettof Detroit, Freddie Vicks and his wife, Hazel, of Kenner, La.; hissisters, Yvonne Moore of Smithdale, Lucy Wagner and her husband,Billy, of Kenner, Margie Girtley of Kenner, Ruth Nelson ofFredericks, Md., Barbara MacNeal and her husband, Roderick, ofDetroit, and Cheryl Pickett of Detroit; and six grandchildren.
