Services for Ray Dorman Stokes of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Sunday,Sept. 5, at Community Funeral Services Chapel with burial inWoodlawn Cemetery in Summit.

Visitation is Saturday from 5-9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Stokes, 78, died Sept. 2, 2004, at University Medical Centerin Jackson. He was born in Eldorado, Ark., on Dec. 28, 1925, toGeorge Stokes and Edna Wooley Stokes.

He was a retired signal maintainer for Illinois CentralRailroad. He was of the Baptist faith. He was married for 57 yearsto Mildred Stokes of Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one sister, HelenLofton.

Survivors are his wife; his daughter, Sherry Foster ofBrookhaven; his son, Rodney Stokes of Madison; his brother, GeorgeStokes of Gretna, La.; his grandsons, Anthony Foster and his wife,Cindy, of Brookhaven, and Alex, Aaron and Austin Stokes of Madison;one aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
