Graveside services for Catherine Smith Franklin of Brookhavenwere 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 7, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens inPearl. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge ofarrangements. The Rev. J.C. Renfroe conducted the service.

Mrs. Franklin, 81, died Oct. 5, 2004, at Beverly HealthcareCenter.

She was a native and longtime resident of Rankin County beforemoving to Brookhaven in 1996. She was a member of Allen ChapelMethodist Church in Brandon. She was a loving wife, mother andgrandmother, and a friend to all she knew. She loved life and couldalways see the best side of everyone and everything, and lived herwhole life with a smile.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Johnnie C. Franklin.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Cathie Twiner andDoyle Bratton of Brookhaven; her son and daughter-in-law, BillFranklin and Patricia of Atlanta, Ga.; six sisters, Juanita Meek ofMorton, Mayola Patrick of Jackson, Naomi Everett of Anchorage,Alaska, Nora Smith of Morton, Nona Brown Norris of Columbia,Frankie Thompson of Leesburgh; a brother, K.L. Smith of Charlotte,N.C.; four grandchildren, Jeff and Cindy Franklin of Atlanta, Ga.,Candi Collett of Byram, and Dustin Bratton of Brookhaven; twogreat-grandchildren, Tyler and Carson Collett of Byram; and herextended family through her husband.
