Services for Eldon Paul Smith of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Sunday,Oct. 24, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Visitation is Sunday from 8 a.m. until noon at Brookhavenfuneral home and from 1-2 p.m., at the church.

Mr. Smith, 81, died Oct. 22, 2004, at his residence. He was bornin Franklin County on March 26, 1923. He was the fourth child ofWalter L. and Mae Smith.

He was retired from Stahl-Urban Comany after 25 years ofemployment. In his retirement years, he worked as a contractpainter. He attended Lucien High School in Lucien.

Mr. Smith loved his Lord, his church and his family. He was alifelong member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was an avidsports fan who faithfully cheered for all his favorite teams.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, AnnieSmith; and a brother, Marshall E. Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Nelleane Allgood Smith of Brookhaven;his sisters, Fannie Lee Lewis, Helen Smith and Nelda Wallace ofBogue Chitto; his brothers, Carroll Smith of Bogue Chitto, DavidSmith of Madison, and George Smith of Groves, Texas; hisstepchildren, U.S. Harveston Jr. and Jan Oster of Brookhaven; hisstep-grandchildren, U.S. “Bob” Harveston III and Alen Oster ofBrookhaven, and Alana Oster and Leah Smith of Jackson; and manynieces and nephews.
