Supervisor’s wife injured in accident

Karen Williamson, wife of District Four Supervisor Nolan EarlWilliamson, is recovering at the University of Mississippi MedicalCenter following an accident around 11 a.m. Friday on Highway 583near Ruth that also injured her husband, co-workers said.
A young grandson was also in the vehicle but was not injured,said David Fields, county administrator.
Fields and several board members visited Karen Williamson at UMCMonday before a meeting with legislators.
She is recovering from three broken vertebrae, a broken sternumand a bad laceration on her head, Fields said.
“She’s in a lot of pain, but she seems to be in good spirits,”Fields said.
Nolan Earl Williamson was treated and released for large cuts onhis left arm near his elbow and right hand, Fields said.
Fields said he was only vaguely aware of the circumstances ofthe accident.
“I just know the truck flipped and she was thrown out,” hesaid.
