Services for Julia Vivian Smith of Brookhaven were 2 p.m.Saturday, Oct. 30, at New Hope Methodist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge ofarrangements.

Mrs. Smith, 89, died Oct. 28, 2004, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Brookhaven on August 11, 1915, to JohnWalden and Katie Smith Walden.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope MethodistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband,Garland L. Smith.

Survivors are her sons, John L. Smith of Amite, La., Jimmie G.Smith of Brookhaven, and Jack Randall Smith of Union Church; herbrother, Roy Waldon of Brookhaven; six grandchildren; and 11great-grandchildren.
