From all indications, the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber ofCommerce has made a solid choice in choosing Cliffton Brumfield asits new executive vice president to run its day-to-dayoperations.

Brumfield’s diverse background in economic development, financial management and private enterprise allow him to bring tothe chamber a valuable mix of experience that will help him as heguides chamber activities.

Brumfield, who currently works in McComb, had praise forBrookhaven and Lincoln county, calling the area “one ofMississippi’s model communities.” That Brumfield knows andappreciates what we have to offer here is encouraging.

Encouraging as well is the fact that Brumfield says he wants tostay in this community rather than use his position as a steppingstone to another career.

Brumfield seems ready to hit the ground running Jan. 3, hisfirst official day on the job. Last week he said he already islooking forward to coordinating efforts on the planned industrialpark and luring businesses to locate there.

After his selection was announced, Brumfield said of Brookhavenand Lincoln County, “It is really a tremendous environment to workin with economic development.”

We couldn’t agree more.

We congratulate Brumfield, welcome him and his family to ourcommunity and wish them all the best.
