Services for Arthur Burneil Carraway of the State Veterans Homein Kosciusko, formerly of Slidell, La., are 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov.18 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Franklin County with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30-9:30a.m. at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.

Mr. Carraway, 86, died Nov. 15, 2004, at Muntfort Jones MemorialHospital in Kosciusko. He was born in Franklin County on June 10,1918, to Hardy B. Carraway and Susie Lard Carraway.

He retired from Kiser Aluminum after 30 years of employment. Hewas a veteran of the Army and member of Company F 329th Infantry.He served in Normandy, northern France and Germany, where he waswounded and discharged from service on July 26, 1945. He was amember of First Baptist Church in Slidell.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, MildredCothren Carraway; one son, Joe Neil Carraway; and twogranddaughters, Christine Carraway Turner and Tammy Cox.

Survivors are his daughter, Mildred R. Reynolds of Noxapater;his sons, Thomas H. Carraway of Weir, Arthur B. Carraway ofSlidell, and Michael A. Carraway of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren;and 11 great-grandchildren.
