3rd Hometown Bucks winner gets right to work

Velesta Young of Wesson started her Christmas shopping early onWednesday when she became the third winner in The DAILY LEADER’sHometown Christmas promotion.
“I have just picked out a little thing in here so I guess it’salready started,” Young said after being presented with her $100 inHometown Bucks at Millane’s Gifts and Bridal Registry.
Young said she registered for the contest only once, duringMillane’s Christmas Open House on Nov. 13.
“This is a nice treat. I was very surprised when I got home(Monday) and got the message to call The DAILY LEADER,” shesaid.
Young did not immediately spend all her winnings while atMillane’s on Wednesday. She said she was excited about where toshop next as she looked down the list of participatingmerchants.
“I might do some shopping at all the places,” she said. “This isvery nice.”
Weekly $100 winners will be selected each Friday until Dec. 12,when the grand prize winner of $500 in Hometown Bucks will bedrawn. This year’s participating businesses also include BettyAnn’s; Brookhaven Sports; Engraveables; Expectations; RushingBoots; Sister’s By Design; Smith Bros. Collision Center and TruckAccessories; T.H. Perkins Furniture Co.; and WizardElectronics.
Forms and boxes have been placed at each merchant location forshoppers to submit entries. Shoppers also may register at Bank ofBrookhaven, State Bank and Trustmark National Bank.
Shoppers may enter as many times as they would like.
DAILY LEADER employees and their families are not eligible towin. Employees of participating merchants may not register at theirrespective businesses but may register at any of the otherparticipating merchants.
