Brookhaven Academy routs University Christian

FLOOWOOD — The Brookhaven Academy varsity Cougars and LadyCougars swept two games from the host University Christian SchoolFlames Monday night.

Nineteen points by Cole Hodges powered the BA boys to an 88-41win over UCS. Kelli Byrd and Jessica Diamond fired in 10 pointsapiece to spark the Lady Cougars in a 55-20 victory over the LadyFlames.

Adding support to the Cougars’ win with 18 points was JeremyWInborne. T-Boy Lynch netted 14 points.

Daniel Zabaldano led the Flames with 13 points.

Brookhaven 55, University 20

Emily Langley added support in the BA girls’ win with ninepoints and four steals. The Lady Cougars improved to 8-0 on theseason as the defending Overall State champs and ran their victorystring to 51 games.

Leading UCS with 11 points was Kristin Hughes.

Junior high action

The BA boys dusted UCS 59-33. Daniel Lofton’s 12 points led theCougars to the win. Sawyer Wallace netted 10 points.

The 8-0 Lady Cougars crushed the Lady Flames 40-14. Kelli Bradyand Drew Holland Tigner directed BA with 14 points apiece. Bradygrabbed six rebounds and made four steals. Tigner pulled down fourrebounds, made three steals and had three assists.

BA returns home on Tuesday, Nov. 30, to host Jackson Prep forfour games. The junior high girls game starts at 4 p.m.
