Claudia Brownlee Beck

Memorial services for Claudia Brownlee Beck of Brandon are 3p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at Covenant Presbyterian Church with aprivate graveside service held by the family. Wright and FergusonFuneral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Beck died Dec. 6, 2004, at St. Dominic/Jackson MemorialHospital in Jackson.

Mrs. Beck was born in Lindsborg, Kan., and was raised in WestHartford, Conn. She graduated from Hall High School in WestHartford and from Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa. Shewas an elementary school teacher in Warren, Ohio, and Dartmouth,Mass. After living in Virginia and Ohio the family moved toBrookhaven. Mrs. Beck was active in civic affairs and wasassociated with a local radio station. She and her family had livedin Clinton for many years and was associated with the ClintonPublic Schools.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and an infantdaughter.

Survivors are her husband of 37 years, Allan Beck of Brandon;her daughter Kathryn Snodgrass and her husband, Paul, of Luling,La.; her son, Stewart Beck of Ridgeland; her brother, StewartBrownlee of Rowayton, Conn.; and her granddaughters Kristen andKaylee Snodgrass of Luling.

Memorials may be made to First Union Presbyterian Church, 134Lakewood Dr., Luling, La. 70070.

Emma Christine Corban

Services for Emma Christine Corban of Roxie were 11 a.m. today,Dec. 8 at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Meadville with burial inRoxie Cemetery.

Mrs. Corban, 85, died Dec. 7, 2004, at Meadville Nursing Home.She was born in Franklin County on July 22, 1919, to FrederickAugustus Seab and Mary Lee McMillan Seab.

She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Nazarene.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, ClydiaCleveland Corban; and a sister.

Survivors are her son, John Corban of Roxie; her sisters, ElsieSeab Woodyear, Norine Seab Woodyear and Francis Seab Leist, all ofRoxie; her brother, Frederic Howard Seab of Ocean Springs; and onegranddaughter.

Joseph Ferd “Jack” Gentiles

Services for Joseph Ferd “Jack” Gentiles of McCall Creek are 1p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at New Salem Baptist Church in FranklinCounty with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30-11:30a.m. at the funeral home and from noon until 1 p.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Gentiles, 76, died Dec. 4, 2004, from injuries sustained inan automobile accident on Hwy. 569 and Hwy. 570. He was born inBaker, La., on July 3, 1928, to Anthony Joseph Gentiles and FerdieWright Gentiles of McCall Creek.

He was a mechanic and served in the Army. He was a member of NewSalem Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Madeline Rodriguez Gentilesof McCall Creek; his daughter, Vickie Gentiles Walters and herhusband, Alvin, of Natchitoches, La.; his two sons, David AnthonyGentiles of Austin, Texas, and Alan Dale Gentiles and his wife,Melanie, of Old Ocean, Texas; his sister Eva Nichols of BatonRouge, La.; his brother, Tommy Gentiles of Denham Springs, La.;eight grandchildren, Ariele, Hannah and Calla Gentiles, all ofAustin, David and Gennifer Gentiles of Old Ocean, Jason and RandallWaters of Natchitoches, and Bryan Waters of Campti, La.; and twogreat-grandchildren, Jaydon Waters of Natchitoches, and HunterWaters of Campti.

R.B. Stuard

Services for R.B. Stuard of Monticello are 2 p.m. Wednesday,Dec. 8 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in MonticelloBaptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Stuard, 75, died Dec. 5, 2004, at his residence. He was bornin Corsicanna County, Texas, on Jan. 14, 1929, to Wyatt Stuard andMary Finley Stuard.

He entered the oil field at the age of 16 and retired as a toolpusher with Flour Drilling Company. He played golf for 40 years andloved to fish and quail hunt. He served in the Army and was amember of Monticello Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one grandson; twosisters; two brothers; and one son-in-law.

Survivors are his daughters, Cynthia Ste. Marie of Monticello,Sandra McMillan of Houma, La., Darlene Gayle Guidry of Houma, andWendee Kay Hudson of Pensacola, Fla.; his sons, Ronnie Stuard andRodnee Stuard, both of Houma; his sisters, Nona Porter of LakeTexacoma, Texas, and Syble Hammonds of San Antonio, Texas; hisbrothers, Robert Stuard of Brookhaven, and Billy Stuard of SanAntonio, Texas; nine grandchildren; and twogreat-grandchildren.
