Services for Edith Redd of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec.23 at St. James M.B. Church with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mrs. Redd, 64, died Dec. 16, 2004, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on April 23, 1940, to Percy Washington Sr.and Mary Coleman Washington of Brookhaven.

She worked in housekeeping a number of years at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. She was a member of Norfield Bethel Church in BogueChitto, where she served on the usher board and in the choir.

Preceding her in death were her father; her daughter, GevellWashington; and her husband, Herman Redd.

Survivors are her mother; her son, David Washington ofBrookhaven; her sisters, Maxine Brown of Hattiesburg, Irma FayeDorsey of Crystal Springs, Juanita McGrew of Chicago, Ill., MonellBrown of Brookhaven, Ella V. Sanders of Muskegeon Heights, Mich.,Inez Quarles, Nita Knight, Geneva McGregory, Mary Alice Love andVera Fields, all of Brookhaven; her brother, Percy B. Washington ofMichigan; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces andnephews.
