Ralph Eugene Beasley
Services for Ralph Eugene Beasley were 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10 atStringer Family Funeral Services in Hazlehurst with burial inGeorgetown Cemetery.
Mr. Beasley, 79, died Jan. 7, 2005, at Mississippi BaptistHealth Center in Jackson.
He was a native of Georgetown. Mr. Beasley was a retiredcarpenter. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Vidor, Texas. Hewas a member of the carpenters union, the Mississippi FraternalOrder of Police and a Baptist.
Survivors are his sons, Curtis Beasley of Brookhaven, and RalphEarl Beasley of Vidor; his daughter, Evelyn Jean Campbell of PortNeches, Texas; his sisters, Laverne Harrison, Irene Wilson ofAlabama, and Katherine McWilliams of Netherland, Texas; 11grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Ruby Elizabeth Paulette Greer
Services for Ruby Elizabeth Paulette Greer of Union Church arenoon Wednesday, Jan. 12 at Union Church Baptist Church in UnionChurch with burial in McBride Cemetery in Jefferson County.Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is today beginning at 5 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Greer, 96, died Jan. 9, 2005, at Silver Cross Nursing Home.She was born in Atlanta, Texas, on Jan. 7, 1909, to Edgar Pauletteand Bertha Stephens Paulette.
She was a homemaker and a member of Union Church Baptist Church.She was married to Delmar Greer for 46 years.
Mrs. Greer enjoyed sewing, crocheting and fishing. Shecultivated many friendships throughout her life, reaching out tothose in need, speaking a kind word of encouragement, and sharingwhat she had with others. She lived an unselfish life dedicated tothe Lord.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two sons,D.C. Greer Sr. and William Greer; her father-in-law, William JoelGreer; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors are her daughters, Martha McKinney and her husband,Edward, and Bertha Varnado and her husband Rayford, all of UnionChurch; her sons, Leslie Greer and his wife, Margaret, ofBrookhaven, and Herman Greer and his wife, Toni, of Pasadena,Texas; her sister, Laverne Carson and her husband, Edward, ofPittsburg, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and sixgreat-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to McBride Cemetery in JeffersonCounty.
Bruce C. Haley
Services for Bruce C. Haley of Wesson were 11 a.m. Monday, Jan.10 at Wesson Baptist Church with burial in Wesson Cemetery.Stringer Family Funeral Services were in charge ofarrangements.
Mr. Haley, 89, died Jan. 8, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter.
He was a retired farmer. Mr. Haley was a native and lifelongresident of Wesson, except for the time he served in the Armyduring World War II. He was a member of the Wesson Baptist Church,Wesson Lions Club and the American Legion.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Clara Williams Haley; anda sister, Marguerite H. Britt.
Survivors are his sister, Sara Bess Heusel of Bastrop, La.; hisbrothers, Howard R. Haley of Hazlehurst, and Scott F. Haley ofWesson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends andneighbors.
Robert E. ‘Bob’ Lohr
Services for Robert E. “Bob” Lohr of Brookhaven are 2 p.m.today, Jan. 11 at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inPleasant Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Lohr, 70, died Jan. 8, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Crawford County, Ohio, on March 2, 1934, toRalph Leroy Lohr and Geneivie Hornavius Lohr.
He retired from work as a mechanic and shop foreman forHarrigill Postal Service and Harrigill Trucking Company. He was amember of First Church of God and Pleasant Grove BaptistChurch.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife,Marilyn; his second wife, Ruth; one son Ralph Lohr; two brothers,Paul Lee Lohr and Lloyd Leroy Lohr; and two sisters, VirginiaMcCormick and Charlotte Sugden.
Survivors are his wife, Cindy Lohr of Brookhaven; his daughter,Lacey M. Case of Brookhaven; his son, Joshua G. Smith ofBrookhaven; his sister, Norma Corfman and her friend, Harold May,of Nevada, Ohio, and Carole Allshouse and her husband, Chris, ofBucyrus, Ohio; his brothers, David Lohr and his wife, Barb, andSteve Lohr and his wife, Pat, all of Bucyrus, Roy Lohr and hiswife, Etta, of Sycamore, Ohio, and Carl Lohr and his wife, Becky,of Nevada, Ohio; his mother and father-in-law, Gerald and JeanTownsend of Brandon; two sisters-in-law, Regenia Pappas and herhusband, Mikey, and Donna Fauver and her husband, Terry, all ofBrookhaven; a family friend, Jessica Floyd of Hattiesburg; and ahost of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
