Police seek suspects in Saturday robberies

Police are searching for suspects in the armed robberies of aman walking his dog and a pizza delivery driver Saturday night.

A man was walking his dog along Diane Drive at 10:16 p.m. when agunman wearing a ski mask leapt from a white pickup and placed himat gunpoint, said Assistant Police Chief Nolan Jones. A secondsuspect stayed behind the wheel of the pickup.

They threatened the man when he claimed he didn’t have any moneyon him, but drove away after being shown the victim’s empty wallet,Jones said.

“They didn’t get anything from him. He didn’t have any money onhim,” Jones said.

Less than an hour later, at 11:07 p.m., a gunman robbed aDomino’s Pizza delivery driver of a small amount of cash onChickasaw Street, Jones said.

The delivery driver had just completed a delivery when he wasapproached by two men wearing ski masks. One of the men had a smallsilver revolver, Jones said.

Police investigators are still trying to determine if the tworobberies are linked.

“I don’t know yet,” Jones said Monday morning. “We’re stilltrying to put it all together. We’ll know more later thisafternoon.”
