David James Coleman

Services for David James Coleman, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Saturday, Jan. 22 at Jericho Church of Christ with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary. Family hour is Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at thechurch.

Mr. Coleman, 61, died Jan. 16, 2005, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on July 20, 1943, to WillieColeman Sr. and Ethelene Coleman.

He was employed with Haskin and Company of Lansing, Mich., formany years. He was also employed with Deviney Company for 25 yearsbefore becoming disabled. He was a member of Jericho Church ofChrist.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Annie D.Morris, Ida Mae Goodwin and Vanzie Lee Blue; and three brothers,Robert T. Coleman, Willie Dan Coleman and Rothy J. Coleman.

Survivors are his daughters, Cynthia Hammonds and her husband,Julius, of Atlanta, Ga., Tecaria Taylor of Atlanta, Diana Greer ofLansing, and Carlis Austin of Atlanta; his brother, Willie ColemanJr. and his wife, Laverne, of Brookhaven; his sisters, Flora MaeStepney and her husband, Emanuel, of St. Louis, Mo., Idella Greenand her husband, Javis, of Lansing, Mich., Annie B. Kenny and herhusband, Earl, of Lansing, and Betty J. Jones, of Brookhaven; sevengrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives andfriends.

Barry G. Sherman

Services for Barry G. Sherman, of Hazlehurst, are 11 a.m.Friday, Jan. 21 at First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst with burialin Ashley Cemetery in Hazlehurst. Community Funeral Services is incharge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 6-8:30 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Sherman, 48, died Jan. 19, 2005, at St. Dominic/JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. He was born in Hammond, La., on Nov.21, 1956, to Eugene C. Sherman and Camille Robertson Sherman ofPontchatula, La.

He was a claims associate with Allstate.

Preceding him in death were his father; and one brother.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Virginia “Gina” Sherman ofHazlehurst; his sons, Christopher Jeremy Sherman and JohnathanTyler Sherman, both of Hazlehurst; and his brother, Kenny Shermanof Pontchatula.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Clayton Vaughan

Services for Clayton Vaughan, of Jayess, are 1 p.m. today, Jan.20 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello with burial in SaulsValley Cemetery.

Mr. Vaughan, 67, died Jan. 18, 2005, at his residence. He wasborn in Lee County, Alabama, on Jan. 14, 1938, to John JacksonVaughan and Hettie Rutherford Vaughan.

He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a 33 Degree Mason withthe Jayess Lodge. He was a member of the National Guard during theBerlin crisis.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Maxine B. Vaughan, ofJayess; his daughter, Sonya Brinkley, of Decatur, Ala; his sons,John Clayton Vaughan and Wesley Dewayne Vaughan, both of Jayess;his sister, Chrystelle Lawler, of Tuskegee, Ala.; 14 grandchildren;and six great-grandchildren.
