Janet Greene

Services for Janet Greene, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m., Monday,Jan. 31 at Riverwood Family Funeral Services Chapel with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Greene, 83, died Jan. 29, 2005, at Oliver House in Wesson.She was born in Reading, Pa., on Jan. 22, 1922, to Thomas CalvinChrist and Viola Baker Christ.

She was a retired teacher’s aid for the Brookhaven SchoolSystem. She was a former Brownie leader, a former member of theJunior Auxiliary, and an avid bridge player. She was a faithfulmember of Wesson Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, RussellYeoman Greene; a sister, Louise Erdman; and a brother, ThomasCalvin Christ Jr.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and EddieAshley, of Wesson; her son, William R. Greene, of Friday Harbor,Wash.; her grandchildren, Tracy Britt, Mitzi Britt, Will, Paul, andKatie; her great-grandchildren, Gibson Britt and Larson Emfinger;and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Brookhaven Animal RescueLeague.

Jewel Charles Hall Jr.

Services for Jewel Charles Hall Jr., of Bogue Chitto, are 10a.m., Monday, Jan. 31 at Community Funeral Services Chapel withburial in Heuck’s Retreat Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hall, 56, died Jan. 27, 2005, in Jackson. He was born on May14, 1948, to Jewel Charles Hall Sr. and June Terry Hall, ofBrookhaven.

He was an operator at Delphi. He was a member of Union HallBaptist Church, where he was a Sunday School director and licensedminister.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Survivors are his mother; his wife, Sharon Hall, of BogueChitto; his daughters and sons-in-law, Christy Page and Joe Case,and Sandi Kaye and Bobby Zimmerman, all of Brookhaven; hisstepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Christy and Tony Rando ofBrookhaven; his son, Jewel Charles Hall III, of Brookhaven; hisstepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Jeffery Wayne and Melanie Smith,of Flora; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Thad Owens, andJennifer and Kelly McDonald, of Brookhaven; 13 grandchildren; andone great-grandchild.

Emma D. Kelly Leggett

Services for Emma D. Kelly Leggett, of Brookhaven, are 3 p.m.,Monday, Jan. 31, at Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is today from noon until 5 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. Leggett, 72, died Jan. 25, 2005, at St. Dominic/JacksonMemorial Hospital in Jackson. She was born in Lincoln County onApril 9, 1932, to Pearlie Kelly and Arnetta Byrd Kelly.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Siloam MissionaryBaptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, CammieLeggett; two sisters, Virgie Mae Thadison and Mattie Lamar; abrother, R.W. Kelly; and a grandchild, Jodell McClendon.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Vera Mae and ArthurMcClendon Sr., Lillie Mae and George Fairman, Bertha B. and AnthonyHughes, Floria Jean Leggett, Emma Jean and Harvey Fairman, Annie B.Leggett, and Shirley and Charles Price, all of Brookhaven; her sonsand daughters-in-law, Cammie Jr. and Debra Leggett, of Sacramento,Calif., Earnest and Shirley Kelly, of Constantine, Mich., JesseLeggett, and C.W. Leggett, both of Brookhaven; her sister, RosieThadison, of Brookhaven; her brothers, Louis Kelly and John C.Kelly, both of Brookhaven; her godson, Kenyon Mobley, ofBrookhaven; her godsister, Aldora Fells, of Brookhaven; 29grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews and friends.

Henry L. ‘Pete’ Pollan

Services for Henry L. “Pete” Pollan, of Roxie, are Monday, Jan.31. at Roxie Baptist Church in Meadville with burial in RoxieCemetery. Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville is in charge ofarrangements.

Mr. Pollan, 52, died Jan. 28, 2005.

He was a logger.

Ernest Paul Seals Sr.

Graveside services with burial for Ernest Paul Seals Sr., ofMcComb, are 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 31, at Hollywood Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 10-10:40 a.m., at Catchings FuneralHome in McComb.

Mr. Seals, 82, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Southwest Regional MedicalCenter in McComb. He was born in Pike County on July 9, 1922, toJoe Allen Seale and Nellie Gatlin Seale.

He was a retired carpenter for Jim Walter Homes. He also workedfor a number of years for the Veterans Administration in Jackson.He was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church in McComb,where he served as a deacon.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife,Vernelle Nettles Seals; His second wife, Winnie Mae Sudduth Seals;his brothers, Chester Seale and Joe Melvin Seale; and a grandson,Pete Barnett.

Survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Ann Jeanette andDanny Oliver, of Bogue Chitto; his sons and daughters-in-law, Wayneand Shari Seals, of Abilene, Texas, Ernest Paul Seals Jr. andAlice, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, and Roy “Butch” and Judy Nelms, ofDenham Springs, La.; his sister and brother-in-law, Nellie Sealeand Billy Puckett, of Raymond; his sisters-in-law, Janet Seale andMinnie Seale; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; andnumerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
