BC puts broom on Enterprise

BOGUE CHITTO — The Bogue Chitto Bobcats swept three games fromthe Enterprise Yellow Jackets in Division 7-1A action Tuesday nightin Calhoun Gymnasium.
In varsity action, the Bogue Chitto boys knocked off Enterprise56-45 and the Lady Bobcats clipped the Lady Jackets 54-49. Injunior varsity girls play, Bogue Chitto ripped Enterprise40-17.
Bogue Chitto 56, Enterprise 45
In the boys game, Enterprise (1-17, 0-9) led Bogue Chitto 7-4 inthe first quarter and 18-17 at the half. Bogue Chitto (2-18, 2-8)roared back in third quarter for an 18-12 run and followed with a20-16 scoring spree in the final frame to take the win, its secondover Enterprise.
“Keyonna Perkins did a good job on free throws down the stretch,going 4-of-5 in the fourth quarter,” said Bogue Chitto boys coachTodd Wilson. “We executed well in spots and Antwain Lyons did agood job pressuring the ball.”
Lyons powered the Bobcats with 19 points followed by Perkinswith 10.
“We played well until the 1:40 minute mark in the thirdquarter,” said Enterprise boys coach Ricky Gray. “Then we could notmanage to control Bogue Chitto in the fourth.”
Leading Enterprise with 19 points and 13 rebounds was MattFloyd. Corey Everett and Andrew Williams grabbed eight reboundsapiece.
Bogue Chitto 54, Enterprise 49
The Bogue Chitto girls (15-7, 7-3) held a slim 13-11 lead overEnterprise in the first quarter. In second-quarter action, the LadyBobcats pushed their lead to 28-24.
“We played hard tonight even though we got in early foultrouble,” said Bogue Chitto girls coach Christi Terrell. “Onoffense, we had a couple of good streaks but we could never keep itup. But at the end, we managed to pull it out to get the win.”
Directing the Lady Bobcats with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 2 stealsand 3 assists was Meleah Brown. Kimberlee Thomas fired in 11 pointsand pulled down 17 rebounds. Shasta Porter pulled down fiverebounds followed by Candance Braxton and Tanesha Johnson with fourrebounds apiece.
Alisha Mason directed the Lady Jackets (10-8, 5-4) with 21points. Deanna Albritton finished with nine points.
“We did not make the shots when we needed too,” statedEnterprise girls coach Jill Nations.
Junior varsity game
The Bogue Chitto girls whipped Enterprise 40-17. Dori Hall ledthe Lady Bobcats with 10 points.
Brittany Holloway led the Lady Jackets with seven points.
Bogue Chitto travels to St. Aloysius in Vicksburg Fridaynight.
