Authorities believe Pleasant Valley Church was the last onerobbed, and Calcote said the timely arrival of a citizen may havescared the suspect away from robbing other churches.

“Someone drove up as they were leaving, so we got a good vehicledescription,” Calcote said. “Our investigators are working on itclosely with Franklin County officers to try to get something doneon this today.”

According to the witness, only one suspect is involved, Calcotesaid.

The burglar entered the churches by smashing the glass in thefront doors.

“They were basically taking sound equipment,” the sheriffsaid.
