Services for Waldon A. “Whit” Whittington, of McComb, a formerresident of Baton Rouge, are 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2 at CatchingsFuneral Home in McComb with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 1-2 p.m. atthe funeral home.

Mr. Whittington, 81, died March 31, 2005, at his residence. Hewas born in McComb on March 17, 1924, to Walter Whittington andBessie Newman Whittington.

He was a retired executive with Wilson Steel Company in BatonRouge with 35 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World WarII. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and was amember of the First Baptist Church in McComb.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley Lofton Whittington, of McComb;one son, David Whittington, of Gillsburg; two daughters, BettyWhittington of Montgomery, Texas, and Debbie Whittington Sampson,of Greenville, S.C.; one brother, Earl Whittington, of McComb;eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
