Participate in cleanup effort and keep up appearances

Keep Lincoln County Beautiful officials have kicked off theirannual effort to improve community appearance around the city andcounty.

A Dumpster was placed Thursday in the Brignal community forresidents there to dispose of trash and larger household items, such as white goods and furniture. The container will be therethrough Tuesday before going to other areas on weekends inApril.

Later this month, KLCB will conduct its annual Gold in theLitter campaign. The campaign offers prizes, hidden in gold eggs,as an incentive for citizens to clean up trashy and littered areasalong roadsides and elsewhere.

KLCB officials are encouraging clubs, civic organizations, church groups and others to pick an area and clean it up.

To visitors, a community’s appearance speaks volumes about thequality of life and the people who live there.

Brookhaven and Lincoln County should strive to put their bestface forward at all times. Community appearance should be ayear-round concern that does not stop when a cleanup campaignends.
