Four teenagers injured in after-prom party accident

Two teenagers remain hospitalized in Jackson after an accidenton Old Highway 27 early Sunday morning following an after-promparty at Wanilla Water Park, officials said.

Andrew McDaniel was airlifted to the University Medical Centeraround 2:30 a.m. Sunday from the scene of the accident, said WillieCollins, a deputy with the Lawrence County Sheriff’sDepartment.

A UMC spokesperson said McDaniel was listed in criticalcondition this morning.

Amber Warr was transferred by ambulance to UMC from LawrenceCounty Hospital later Sunday morning, according to a hospitalspokesperson. She is listed in good condition, the UMC spokespersonsaid.

Ashley Jones and Racheal Daniels were treated and released fromLCH Sunday morning, a hospital spokesperson said.

Collins said Jones was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer.

“Apparently, when they went over the railroad tracks she lostcontrol of the vehicle,” he said.

The truck stopped near Boyles Lane on the left side of thehighway, he said. The Jaws of Life were used to extricate McDanielfrom the vehicle.
