Press group to hold teachers’ ‘boot camp’

High school journalism teachers have the opportunity this summerto attend a free weeklong “boot camp” on the Ole Miss campus inOxford.
The Mississippi Press Association Education Foundation issponsoring the scholastic journalism training and has distributeddetails of the event by e-mail, fax and postal mail to high schoolsaround the state.
The journalism boot camp will be a valuable training tool forteachers who serve as newspaper advisers as well as those who maybe considering starting a school newspaper, said Carolyn Wilson,executive director of the Mississippi Press Association. She saidone goal of the program is to entice more high school students intojournalism by training their teachers and advisers.
