The evening included no special honors or awards. Allen praisedthe work of all the law enforcement agencies.

“It would be hard to give an award to any particular one,” shesaid. “They’re all so great.”

While the event was to show appreciation to law officers, PostTwo Constable Lavon Boyd said officers themselves were appreciativeof the kind gesture.

“It’s something you kind of look forward to, talking to thepeople and meeting them,” Boyd said of the event.

Lincoln County Sheriff Wiley Calcote agreed. He said the fishfry was great opportunity to fellowship and meet some people whoare served by law enforcement.

“It means a lot to know there are people out there whoappreciate the work we do,” Calcote said.
