Doyle Cothern Jr.
Services for Doyle Cothern Jr., of Enon, are 2 p.m. Wednesday,May 25 at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb with burial in EnonCemetery.
Visitation is today from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 am.until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Cothern, 78, died May 22, 2005, at his residence. He wasborn in Walthall County on Aug. 5, 1926, to Jasper N. Cothern andFlora Inez Dunaway Cothern.
He was a retired utility worker for Haspel and McCombManufacturing. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was amember of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Irene BoydCothern; one brother, Knox Cothern; and a sister, KatherineAnderson.
Survivors are his three sisters, Loe Gene Roberts, of Summit,Willie Ann Lang, of Fernwood, and Josephine Cothern, of McComb;three brothers, Bobbie Cothern, of Beaumont, Texas, CrossieCothern, of Biloxi, and Fairley Cothern, of Vidor, Texas; andnumerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries, 397 Brookhaven St.,Brookhaven MS 39601.
Sara Clanton Hudson
Services for Sara Clanton Hudson, of Pascagoula, are 10 a.m.Wednesday, May 25 at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inStrong Hope Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hudson, 82, died May 22, 2005, at the University ofMississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was born in JeffersonCounty on Nov. 22, 1922, to James A. Clanton and Eunice DunganClanton.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Riverside BaptistChurch.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, James A.Clanton Jr. and Lenell Tuney Clanton; and two sisters, Hattie Kyzarand Callie Sullivan.
Survivors are her husband, Sherrie Narcease “S.N.” Hudson Sr.,of Pascagoula; her daughter, Carolyn T. Earls, of Wesson; herstepdaughter, Diane Hall, of New Orleans; her stepsons, SonnyHudson and Douglas Hudson, both of Independence, La.; her sisters,Trudy Martin, of Mandeville, La., and Margie Scalf, of Gretna, La.;her brothers, Alton Clanton, of Bossier City, La., and RussellClanton, of Biloxi; four grandchildren, Randy Earls, Terrel Earlsand Sheila Hewitt, all of Wesson, and Sara Gandy, of Milton, Fla.;and eight great-grandchildren.
John Gaines
Services for John Gaines, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Wednesday,May 25 at Williams Mortuary Chapel with burial in Rose Hill ChurchCemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from noon until 6 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Gaines, 87, died May 22, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lincoln County on Nov. 28, 1917, to WillGaines and Isabelle Gaines.
He was retired.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, IreneLott, Marion Gaines and Josephine Coleman; two brothers, EugeneGaines and Willie B. Gaines; three sons, Paul Gaines, Edward Gainesand Mark Anthony Gaines; and one daughter, Cathy Gaines.
Survivors are his daughter, Cheryl Gaines, of Brookhaven; hissons, Harold Banks, of Brookhaven, and Victor Gaines, of Jackson;12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a special nephew, HaroldColeman, of Brookhaven; and many nieces, nephews and otherrelatives.
Jessie Joe Smith
Services for Jessie Joe Smith, of Brooksville, Fla., formerly ofBogue Chitto, are 1 p.m. today, May 24 at Community FuneralServices with burial in Ross Cemetery.
Mr. Smith, 42, died May 17, 2005, in Brooksville. He was born inNatchez on March 24, 1963, to Siseroe Smith and Mary AdamsSmith.
He was disabled.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his daughters, Cheryl Shook, of McComb, andJessica Smith, of Brookhaven; and his brother, Curtiss Maness, ofBogue Chitto.
