Mayor David Nichols, Ward One Alderman Jerry Goode and Ward TwoAlderman Steve Moreman will also be sworn in for their third termsat that time.

Proud of their success over the past eight years, Magee, Reevesand Mathews say they are ready to let others lead – and they admitthey are fatigued from pushing the town from financial difficultyto success while enhancing the services the town offers to itsresidents.

“I think eight years is enough for anyone,” Magee said earlierthis year. “We’ve had a good board with very few disagreements. We’ve done a lot. And we’ve got money in the bank. It’s a goodfeeling.”

Reeves agreed.

“We’ve seen a big loss in jobs and businesses and been able tohold our own during a national recession,” he said. “Now, we’restarting to come back. We’ve got pretty good fiscal services, we’vebeen able to improve services and we’ve been able to do thatwithout raising taxes.”

Mathews stepped down from the board in January after moving outof the district. Clyburn was appointed to run the district untilthe municipal elections earlier this month.
