Services for Beatrice Ellis, of Jackson, are 11 a.m. Thursday,July 7 at New Stranger’s Home Baptist Church with burial in GardenMemorial Park.

Visitation is today from 1-7:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home onFarish St.

Mrs. Ellis, 89, died July 2, 2005, at St. Dominic-JacksonMemorial Hospital.

Survivors are her son, Charlie Shelby Jr., of Brookhaven; hersister, Allean Starks, of Fayette, Ella D. Ellis, of Natchez, ClaraScott, of Detroit, Mich., and Marie Ellis, of Kansas City, Mo.;seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mary Lou Greer Rushing

Services for Mary Lou Greer Rushing, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Thursday, July 7 at Easthaven Baptist Church with burial inRosehill Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from 2-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Rushing, 77, died July 4, 2005, at the Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born on Aug. 19, 1927, to Sethand Nannie Bell Weir Greer.

She was a graduate of Enterprise High School where she was classvaledictorian. She was a retired insurance clerk with RadiologyAssociates. She was a Pink Lady at King’s Daughters Medical Center,a member of the Cherokee Garden Club and the Sr. Adult Council atEasthaven Baptist Church. She married James Rushing on Aug. 18,1946. They were married for 54 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, JamesRushing; her father-in-law, Hollis Rushing; her nieces, BeverlyWilliams and Cindy Lou Reed; her sisters-in-law, Mary Lane Reed andEarline Rushing; and her brothers-in-law, Albert White and AdmiralBrent.

Survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Theresia Smith,Sheila Day, Jimmy and Don Allen, Jennifer and Ken Brookins; hergrandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Stephanie Smith, Ryan andBrandi Day, Luke and Donna Prisock, Kayla Allen, Clay Brookins,Cory Day and Kristen Brookins; her great-grandchildren, ParkerAllen Prisock and Brantley Keith Day; her brother andsister-in-law, Frank and Mitt Greer; her sisters, Margaret Brent,and Myrtis White; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Hollis andHelen Rushing; her mother-in-law, Gladys Rushing; and numerousnieces and nephews.

Gladys Sanders

Services for Gladys Sanders, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m. Friday,July 8 at Hopewell M.B. Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Thursday from noon until 7 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.

Mrs. Sanders, 84, died July 5, 2005, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on June 13, 1921, to George Clark and LolaHoney Clark.

She was a retired housekeeper at Holiday Inn of Brookhaven. Shewas a member of Hopewell M.B. Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, WillieSanders; her brother, Versie Clark; and her sisters, EstellaBrothern, Irene Townsend and Lola Mae Jones.

Survivors are her daughter, Mary Lee Bent, of Milwaukee, Wisc.;her son, Willie B. Sanders, of Brookhaven; her sisters, Queen EsterBrothern and Annie Mae McCall, both of Brookhaven; her brothers,Johnny Clark, of Los Angeles, Ulius Clark, of Greenville, andRobert Lee Clark, of Brookhaven; five grandchildren; and sixgreat-grandchildren.
