Brookhaven clips North Pike girls

SUMMIT — The Brookhaven Lady Panther slowpitch softball teamslipped past the North Pike Lady Jaguars 7-6 Thursday night.
The winning hurler was Brittany Smith (5-2) and the loser wasJenna Dickerson (2-6).
Directing Brookhaven with three doubles was Smith. Ashley Sykesdoubled and singled. Hitting safely were Terri Hodges, ChristiMartin, Sabrina Delaughter, Jana Wallace and Katie Stewart.
Catherine West paced 2-6 North Pike with 2 singles and a double.Kaitlyn Perry doubled and singled. Singling were Jennifer Coney,Maggie Dunaway, Tori Gaskin, Kayla Stockton and Dickerson.
Junior varsity
North Pike clipped Brookhaven 5-4.
Leading the Panthers with 2 singles each were Jordan Beeson,Stevie Wright and Brianna Ashmore. Singling were Hannah Lowman,Georgia Ray Rainer and Brittany Bateman. Ashmore (1-2) absorbed theloss.
For the Jags, Hali Sasser and Stockton each singled three times.A pair of singles were hit by Hannah Roberts. Doubling was KelseyLord. Alma Westbrook and Jessica Agnor singled.
Brookhaven hosts Port Gibson Tuesday at Mamie Martin Field for adistrict test. Game times are 5 p.m. for the JV and 6 for thevarsity.
North Pike entertains district rival South Pike, beginning withthe JV at 6 followed by the varsity at 7.
