Services for Ethel Lae Wells Freiler of Jackson are 2 p.m.Friday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson with burialin Canton.

Visitation is Friday from 1 p.m. until service time at thefuneral home.

Mrs. Freiler, 94, died Sept. 26, 2005, at St. Dominic Hospitalin Jackson.

She graduated from Newton High School, attended Clark Collegeand Mississippi College before receiving a Bachelor of Sciencedegree in education from the University of SouthernMississippi.

Her teaching positions included Decatur, Tylertown, Canton andJackson, where she retired after 40 years in the educationprofession. She worked tirelessly to provide the best education forthe children in her classes and is fondly remembered by many ofthem.

Mrs. Freiler contributed to the mission of Broadmoor BaptistChurch by serving as the first classification officer for almost 50years and as long-time associate librarian. Later, she joined FaithBaptist Church and found a loving church home there.

Her love for God led her to be an avid lover of both people andanimals. After her relocation to Haven Hall in Brookhaven, Mrs.Freiler, known affectionately as Lalie, made many dear friendsamong the staff and residents. She was known for her cheerful smileand positive attitude.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Wellsof Newton; her husband, Grenes C. Freiler of Jackson; and a son,Grenes C. Freiler Jr.

Survivors are her sister, Jewel Roebuck; her nieces, BetsyCratch, Linda Lae Kergosien, Margaret Nettles, Jo Ray Van Vliet andtheir husbands, Geoff Cratch, Hunter Kergosien, Dr. Tom Nettles andLt. Col. Joh Van Vliet; a number of great-nieces and nephews; andsome great-great nieces and nephews.
