James Vernice Case

Services for James Vernice Case of Smithdale were 2 p.m. Sundayat Ramah Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Case, 89, died Sept. 30, 2005 at his residence. He was bornin Lincoln County on March 15, 1916, to John V. Case and MaudePosey Case.

He was retired from ICG Railroad after 34 years. He was a elderdeacon and Sunday school teacher at Ramah Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Mattie Lee(Lofton) Case; his son, Bill Joe Case; his grandson, Joe GaineyCase; his brothers, Homer Case, Millard Case, C.L. Case, Ike Case,and Sheldon Case; and his sisters, Edna Porter and Mary DellSmith.

Survivors are his daughter, LaWanda Dixon and her husband Pete,of Brookhaven; her daughter-in-law, Frances Faye Case, ofSmithdale; her grandchildren, Bob Dixon, of Salt Lake City, Utah,Ken Dixon and his wife Donna, of Brookhaven, and Billie Ann Ashleyand her husband Toby, of Smithdale; and his great-grandchildren,Garrett Ashley, Karri Dixon, Rhett Dixon, Will Dixon, and LeeJones.

Special thanks go to his caregivers, Ann Laird, Elaine Boyd,Katie Moak, and Lillie Kline.

Wilda H. Coon

Services for Wilda H. Coon of Jayess are 1 p.m. Monday atCalvary United Pentecostal Church in Jayess with burial in EnonCemetery. Catchings Funeral Home in McComb is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation is today from 4 p.m. until services on Monday.

Mrs. Coon, 57, died Oct. 1, 2005 at Southwest MississippiRegional Medial Center. She was born in Lawrence County on April24, 1948, to Willie Howell and Margaret Dunaway HowellWilliams.

She was a retired sitter for the elderly. She was a member ofCalvary United Pentecostal Church and was a former member of theEastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her father; and one brother, EllisHowell.

Survivors are her mother; her husband, Earnest Lee Coon, ofJayess; her son, Earnest Allen Coon, of Jayess; her daughter,Margaret Durrer, of Jayess; her brother, Wade Boyd, of Monticello;her sisters, Shirley Alexander, of Jayess, Janice Harney, of YazooCity, and Shelia Conn, of Summit; her half brother, William Phillip”Buster” Howell, of Monticello; six grandchildren; and a host ofnieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Willie Ferguson Jr.

Services for Willie Ferguson Jr. of Brookhaven are 11 a.m.Monday at Collins Temple Church of God in Christ in Bogue Chittowith burial in Springfield Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 2 to 5 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home.

Mr. Ferguson, 81, died Sept. 28, 2005 at CountryBrook LivingCenter. He was born on May 19, 1924, to Willie Ferguson, Sr. andOzie May Redd Ferguson Hayes.

He was a retired pulpwood hauler. He was a member of CollinsTemple Church of God in Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, NorbellStovall Ferguson; and his brother, James Ferguson.

Survivors are his son, Ronnie Kelly, of Springfield, Mass.; hisdaughter, Margie Ferguson Hardwell, of Chicago, and his sisters,Elnora Ferguson Cooley, of Vallejo, Calif., and Elzadie Moore, ofBogue Chitto.

Bonnie Magee Young

Services for Bonnie Magee Young of McComb are 11:30 a.m. Mondayat Hartman Funeral Home with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.

Visitation is Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at thefuneral home.

Mrs. Young died Sept. 29, 2005 at Aston Court in McComb. She wasborn in Brookhaven on April 1, 1913, to James Sutton and AnnieSutton.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First BaptistChurch in McComb.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John S.Young Sr.; her brothers, Arthur Magee, Dewey Magee, O.F. Magee,Howard Magee, and Kenneth Magee; and her sisters, Jessie Lucas,Ruby Waggner, Willie Bee Magee and Nellene Freeman

Survivors are her son, John Sharp and his wife Shirley Young, ofMcComb; his daughter, Judy Yarbrough and her husband Yogi, ofBrookhaven; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
