Services for Swep Hugh Lovitt Jr., of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.Thursday, Oct. 27 at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Lovitt, 83, died Oct. 24, 2005, at Countrybrook LivingCenter. He was born in Pachuta in Clarke County on July 12, 1922,to Swep Hugh Lovitt and Grace Evans.

He was self employed. He was a member of First United MethodistChurch and the Noon Lions Club. In 1949 Mr. Lovitt opened LovittOil Co., which he owned and operated until 1969. In 1969, he movedto Brookhaven and opened White’s Auto which was in business from1969 to 1982. In his later years he was in the real estatebusiness. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Michael NobleLovitt; and one brother, Evans Lovitt.

Survivors are his wife, Edna Noble Lovitt, of Brookhaven; hisdaughter, Lisa Lovitt Thompson, of Madison; his son, Swep HughLovitt III, of Memphis, Tenn.; his sister, Margaret Lovitt Moore,of Albertville, La.; his brother, Ralph “Rip” Cameron Lovitt, ofNatchez; and five grandchildren.
