BA girls whip Huntington

NATCHEZ — Playmaker Betsy Lynch pumped in 16 points, made 5steals and had 6 assists in powering the Brookhaven Academy LadyCougars to a 56-28 Wednesday night win over the Huntington (La.)Lady Hounds in the second round of the Adams County ChristianSchool Girls Tip-Off Classic.
Brookhaven, coached by Barry Gray, improved to 3-1 on theseason. The Lady Cougars meet Amite School Center Saturdayafternoon, beginning with junior high action at 3:30 p.m., followedby varsity play at 4:45.
Contributing to the Brookhaven win with 13 points and 4 stealswas Holly Case. Kellie Brady led off the backboards with 7 reboundsfollowed by Kelli Snider and Hannah Watts with 4 apiece. Brady alsomade 5 steals and Maddie Allen had 3 assists.
Jessie Lee scored 11 points for Huntington.
Junior high
Drew Holland Tigner and Nicole Smith fired in 9 points apiece tolead Brookhaven in a 42-20 win over Huntington. Edin Prather had 8points and Jordan Langston 5. Emilee Johns had 10 forHuntington.
The Lady Cougars improved to 2-0 on the season.
