During his 20 years on the Board of Aldermen, when J.W. Morganagreed with something someone was saying, he would express hisagreement and appreciation with a hearty “thank you.”

On Saturday, it was the community’s turn to say “thank you” toMorgan during a street renaming dedication and program. Earlierthis year, aldermen voted to rename the section of North ThirdStreet where Morgan lives to J.W. Morgan Way.

Morgan has always enjoyed calling Brookhaven home. And he enjoysgreeting his neighbors with a broad smile and a firm handshake oran occasional hug.

Whether through his time as city official, as a Christian radioshow announcer or in one of the other jobs he has held, Morgan hasenriched Brookhaven in many ways. Saturday’s ceremony truly was awell-deserved honor for someone who has dedicated his life tobettering his beloved community.
