Graveside services for Velma Lee Allen, of Brookhaven, are 11a.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at New Sight Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Homeis in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Allen, 73, died Nov. 12, 2005, at Haven Hall Nursing Home.She was born in Pearsall, Texas, on Oct. 2, 1932, to Samuel Pruittand Lois Stymick Pruitt.

She was a housewife. She was a member of New Sight BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, PaulAllen; her brother, Glenn Pruitt; and her daughter-in-law, JoyceAllen McCartney.

Survivors are her sons, Sammy Allen and his wife, Brenda, ofBaton Rouge; and Gary Paul Allen and Stevie Lee Allen, both ofBrookhaven; her brothers, Marvin Colston, of Thibodaux, La., andCharles Pruitt, of Bay St. Louis; her sister, Marie O’Neil; hergrandchildren, Shellie Furr, Georgiana Bartell, Jennifer Allen,Rusty Allen, Samantha Allen and Sammy Allen Jr.; and sevengreat-grandchildren.
