BC boys pound Enterprise

The Bogue Chitto Bobcats placed 5 players in double figures ontheir way to a 79-59 win over the host Enterprise Yellow JacketsThursday night in the opening round of the Lincoln County RoundRobin Tournament.
In the girls game, Enterprise was led by 4 players in doublefigures in their close 53-51 victory over Bogue Chitto.
Today, West Lincoln battles Bogue Chitto at 4 p.m. for the girlsand 5:30 for the boys. At 7 and 8:30, Enterprise entertains LoydStar for 2 games.
Saturday’s games feature Loyd Star against Bogue Chitto in theearly games and Enterprise faces West Lincoln in late action.
Bogue Chitto 79, Enterprise 59
Alonzo Minor directed the Bobcats with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 5steals and 5 assists. Firing in 17 points, grabbing 8 rebounds,making 2 steals and 6 assists was Dontae Ratcliff. Antwain Lyonsnetted 14 points, pulled down 9 rebounds and had 5 assists.
Contributing to the Bogue Chitto win with 12 points each wereMario Addison and Keyounna Perkins. Perkins collected 7 reboundsand 3 steals.
Bogue Chitto led Enterprise by 1 point, 14-13, in the firstquarter. The Bobcats went on a 23-16 run in the second quarter fora 37-29 lead at the half. Second-half action saw the Bobcatscontinue to outscore the Jackets 42-30 to secure the win.
The Bobcats (3-3) are coached by Andrew Smithie.
“Bogue Chitto outplayed us,” said first-year Enterprise coachJosh Bass. “We played with no heart.”
Matt Floyd’s 19 points, 18 rebounds and 2 assists sparked the1-5 Jackets. Timothy McCoy finished with 11 points, 3 rebounds and3 steals. Pulling down 7 rebounds was Chris Fuller.
Enterprise 53, Bogue Chitto 51
The 4-3 Bogue Chitto girls jumped out to a big 21-12 lead overEnterprise (4-2) in the first quarter. The Lady Jackets respondedin the second quarter with a 19-8 run to take a 2-point, 31-29 leadover the Lady Bobcats.
In the second half, the teams scored 22 points apiece in thesecond half as the hosts held on for the win.
The game had 20 jump-ball possessions.
“Tonight was a good win for us,” said Enterprise girls coachJill Nations. “Bogue Chitto guarded Mason and my other playersstepped it up and made their shots. We rebounded better in thesecond half.”
Mason led the Lady Jackets with 15 points and 6 rebounds.Whitney Kyzar pumped in 13 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, made 2steals and had 3 assists. Lindsey Everett scored 10 points,
“We played sloppy,” said Bogue Chitto girls coach ChristiTerrell. “We missed to many lay-ups and free throws. We did notblock out and rebound. We have to pick it up and played bettertomorrow.”
Shasta Porter’s 15 points and 13 rebounds paced Bogue Chitto.Meleah Brown and Kimberlee Thomas fired in 11 points apiece.Scoring 10 points was Chelsey Miller. Thomas led off the backboardswith 12 rebounds. Brown followed with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
