Centreville man killed in accident

An early morning vehicle accident in Franklin County claimed thelife of a Centreville man, Mississippi Highway Patrol officialssaid.

Terry Cox, 30, of Centreville, was killed when the vehicle hewas riding in collided with a commercial Peterbilt truck around5:46 a.m. today, said Sgt. Rod Crawford, Mississippi Highway PatrolTroop M Public Affairs officer.

Cox was a passenger in a 2004 Ford truck driven by Oris Huff,34, of Centreville. Huff was traveling north on Highway 33 when heattempted to cross Highway 84. His vehicle was hit by a commercialtruck driven by Clifton Bonds, 33, of Tickfaw, La. The commercialtruck was carrying a load of hydraulic fluid and is owned bySmitty’s Supply Co., of Roseland, La.

Both drivers were injured in the accident and taken by ambulanceto the Franklin County Hospital in Meadville, Crawford said.Additional information on the medical status of Huff and Bonds wasunavailable.
