Helen Boorman Cagle
Services for Helen Boorman Cagle, of Jackson, are 2 p.m.Thursday, Dec. 29 at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial inEasthaven Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Afterthe service, all friends and family are invited to Margie Nettle’shome for visitation.
Mrs. Cagle, 80, died Dec. 26, 2005, at her residence. She wasborn in London, England, on Dec. 25, 1925, to Sidney Royal Boormanand Ellen McCarthy Boorman.
She was a self-employed upholstery shop owner.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Melvyn P.Pepper, of Lake City Fla., Danny Sam Pepper Sr., of Brookhaven; twobrothers; and two sisters.
Survivors are her husband, Luther H. Cagle, of Jackson; herdaughters, Carol Pepper Bacot, of McComb, and Debbie Pepper Brown,of Raceland, La.; her stepdaughter, Deborah Cagle Parker, ofHattiesburg; her sisters, Betty, Carol and Kathleen, all ofEngland; her brothers, Sonny Boorman and Laurie Boorman, both ofEngland; her sister-in-law, Margie Nettles, of Brookhaven; ninegrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces andnephews.
Ann Evans Callender
Services for Ann Evans Callender, of Brookhaven, are 11 a.m.Thursday, Dec. 29 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.
Mrs. Callender, 63, died Dec. 25, 2005, at Mississippi BaptistMedical Center in Jackson. She was born in Straight Bayou on April28, 1942, to Ira Lee Evans and Grace Jordan Evans.
She was a draftsman, dietitian, homemaker and mother. She was amember of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where she was organist forseveral years. She was also a member of the Order of the EasternStar.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Mark EvanCallender; her brother, Edward Evans; and a sister, NitaBrooks.
Survivors are her husband of 48 years, Edwin Dale Callender, ofBrookhaven; her daughters, Dana D. Scroggs and her husband, Leroy,and Grace A. Richardson and her husband, James, all of Caseyville;her brother, John W. Evans, of Glen Rose, Texas; her sisters, JoCarlisle, of Memphis, Faye Barley, of Eugene, Ore., and Lynn Moyerand Katherine Nixon, both of Florence, Ore.; five grandchildren;and three great-grandchildren.
