Services for Bettye Jo Renfro, of Gulfport formerly ofBrookhaven, are 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 at Center Street Church ofChrist with burial in Carver Heights Cemetery.
Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Renfro, 59, died Jan. 2, 2006, at The University ofMississippi Medical Center Wiser Women’s and Children’s Hospital.She was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 29, 1946, to Willie Renfroand Beatrice A. Taylor.
She was a teacher. She was employed in the Gulfport SchoolSystem where she taught at Gulfport High School. She taught schoolfor a number of years in Kenneth, Mo.
Ms. Renfro was a 1965 graduate of Alexander High School. She wasalso a graduate of Abilene Christian University. She attendedMississippi Valley State University. She was a member of MorrisRoad Church of Christ in Gulfport.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Sam RufusIII and an infant sister, Beatrice Taylor.
Survivors are her son, Scote F. Renfro, of Gulfport; herbrothers, Willie Chisom and his wife, Patricia, of Milwaukee,Wisc., Glenn Rufus and his wife, Emma, of Brookhaven, MichaelTaylor of Natchez, and Harry Taylor, of Gulfport; her sisters,Barbara Chisom, of Santa Rosa, Calif., Maggie Brooks and herhusband, James, of Jackson, and Patricia Brown, Audrey Wilson andLuatrice Taylor, all of Brookhaven; three grandchildren; and a hostof nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
