BA boys rip Trinity, Silliman

CLINTON, La. — The Brookhaven Academy Cougars posted a pair ofbig District 4-AA weekend wins, beating Silliman Institute Saturdayand Natchez Trinity Friday.

In Saturday’s game, T-Boy Lynch pumped in 18 points to powerBrookhaven to a 76-40 win over Silliman.

Friday, Jeremy Winborne teamed with Lynch to score 15 pointsapiece and power Brookhaven to a 64-42 victory over Trinity.Winborne collected 8 rebounds and made 4 steals. Lynch followedwith 7 rebounds and made 4 steals.

Brookhaven Academy returns home Tuesday to face district foe OakForest for four games. The junior high girls begin play at 4p.m.

Brookhaven 76, Silliman 40

Contributing to the win Saturday for the Cougars was Winbornewith 12 points. Cory Dickerson fired in 10 points, grabbed 7rebounds, made 8 steals and had 6 assists. Seth Davis followed with7 assists. Alan Gray had 8 assists.

Brookhaven, coached by Dale Watts, improved to 18-1 overall andis 7-0 in district play.

Spencer McClain netted 13 points for Silliman.

Brookhaven 63, Trinity 42

Adding support to the Brookhaven win Friday with 14 points, 7rebounds and 4 steals was Davis. Dickerson finished with 10 points.Gray had 7 assists.

Matthew Freeman paced Trinity with 11 points. High scoringSteven Ridley was held to 8 points.

Junior high action

Saturday, Brookhaven (10-3) crushed Silliman 45-19, powered byTy Smith’s 14 points. Joshua Winborne followed with 12 points andJake Reed finished with 10.

Friday’s game saw Brookhaven fall to Trinity by a score of49-41. Smith paced Brookhaven with 17 points and Tripp Jollyfollowed with 10.

Bryant Pearson netted 16 points for Trinity.
