Services for Robert Kent Burnaman, of Gulfport, are 2 p.m.Thursday, Jan. 12 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road inGulfport, with burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens inGulfport.

Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Burnaman, 81, died Jan. 9, 2006, at Memorial Hospital. Hewas born in Gulfport on June 21, 1924, to Wise and Lottie WilliamsBurnaman.

He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where he servedas chairman of the Board of Elders and president of thecongregation. He managed his own CPA firm in Gulfport for 43 years.Mr. Burnaman volunteered with many civic organizations, whichincluded past president of the Mississippi Coast CPA Associationand chairman of the State Insurance Committee for CPA’s. He servedas past president of the South Mississippi Estate Planning Council,served on the board of the United Way, and served as the treasurerfor the Youth for Christ. As a member of the Gulfport Rotary Club,he served as treasurer for 15 years and was awarded the Paul HarrisFellow. In recent years, he served as treasurer of the CoastCommunity Concert Association, treasurer of the Gulfport-Biloxi QBHangar and first president of the Burnaman Family Association. Hemarried the former Lillian Louise Klein, of Gulfport, on March 28,1948.

Mr. Burnaman was a 1943 graduate of Brookhaven High School, anda graduate of Mississippi State University. He served his countryas a pilot in the Army Air Corp during World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George Wise Burnaman,of Copiah County, and Lottie Williams Burnaman, of Gulfport.

Survivors are his wife, Lillian Klein Burnaman; his son, RobertKent Burnaman Jr.; his grandson, Robert Kent Burnaman III, ofGulfport; his daughter, Beverly Heimstead and her husband, Michael,and daughters Kristen and Stephanie, of Charlotte, N.C.

Mr. Burnaman will be remembered by his family as a lovinghusband, father and grandfather. His many former clients andcolleagues will remember him as a fair and honest businessman.
