Roy Lynn ‘Runt’ Wooten

Services for Roy Lynn “Runt” Wooten, of Bogue Chitto, were 2p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at Harrigill Funeral Home with burial in theWooten family cemetery at the Wooten homeplace.

Mr. Wooten, 73, died Jan. 12, 2006, at University of MississippiMedical Center. He was born in Memphis, Tenn. on May 27, 1932, toRalph Wooten and Zula Laird Wooten.

He was a retired pipe fitter from Local 198 in Baton Rogue, La.He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He was a veteran ofthe Korean War and a member of the Army National Guard. He was amember of the 241 Blue Lodge Masonic of Brookhaven and the ScotishRite Bodies Lodge in Gulfport. He was a member and past commanderof the Sons of the Confederate Veterans Camp 1839, Brookhaven LightArtillary

Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, MargaretVirginia Wooten.

Survivors are his wife, Sarah “Sally” Bullock Wooten, of BogueChitto; his sons, Michael Lynn Wooten, of Saucior, Johnnie RalphWooten, of Brookhaven, and David Gibson Wooten, of Baton Rogue; hisdaughter, Regina Anne Wooten Wooley, of Brookhaven; sixgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
